Surrey once again held their lead against Essex as they won their second pool against Essex in the NatWest T20 blast. Essex failed to get a modest total of 150 runs made by the Surrey unit. Surrey won the game by 10 runs. For Essex it was Mohammad Amir and for Surrey Kevin Pietersen was in the lead role.

The start of the game was pretty much solid for the Essex unit. Mohammad Amir provided his side with two quick wickets and both the Surrey openers Roy and Finch fell cheaply to some fantastic new ball spell from Pakistani left arm pacer Mohammad Amir. After that KP took control of the proceedings.
